new stuff!
So that I have somewhere to keep all my pens, instead of letting them float around in my bag with all the other random crap that lives there. From Neressabennet on Etsy.
Aaand some other cute stuff from her store:

rat rat rat rat rat
Soooooooooooo, I have been busy doing some construction lately. My rats needed a new cage, because they ate their way through the old one. So here are some photos of the cages, and of my babies.
Here's the old cage, minus half of the wire because I needed it for the new one. The girls lived in the top half, but they chewed a hole through the floor. And my construction skills for this one weren't that awesome either, so new cages were in order.
And here are the rats: Oska, Boris, Anouk (or Nook, or Nookie) and Ruby (aka Rubes). Boris is the oldest, he's the alpha male and sometimes beats Oska up, but they get along well. Rats live better lives when they have company, so Oska came along about two weeks after I got Boris.
I got the girls about 3 months later, Ruby first, and then Nook a week later. They get along really well too, and always sleep in 'rat piles' in the corner of their cage.
And here's the new cage, this is where the girls live now. The boys are getting one just like that, once I get around to finishing it. Right now it's in pieces on the garage floor, haha.
About the new cage: the top floor has their lunchbox house (with Nook inside) and a hammock, middle floor is where all the food/water is (and Ruby, eating something), and the bottom floor has their litter box. I'm trying to train them to use it, but so far they just keep knocking it over.

And that concludes today's lesson.
Everyone should have pet rats because they're awesome.

dsylexic today
having one of those days.
today at work i kept reading the number 9 as 4. i was trying to call customers and kept getting told that 'this number is unavailable'.
and even when somebody helpfully pointed out that they were 9s, not 4s, i still did it.
in my defense though, the 9s looked a hell of a lot like the way i write my 4s.
on top of that, my manger pulled the 'hey, you're short!' card and told me that he likes to put things up high so that children don't mess with them, and that i should be the one testing out if they're up high enough.
oh yes. the joys of working in retail.
and. something is up with australia post.
seriously.
every time i go in there to post something - usually, the exact same thing as the week before, i get charged differently. today it cost me less than $10 to post four letters, three to america (and one to perth). the other day it cost me $10 just for one to amercia.
im beginning to think that they just charge whatever the hell they feel like charging, because there doesn't appear to be any sort of logic behind it.
anyway.
i got a whole stack of new paper for envelopes, and i'm looking to get some sticker paper to make stationery kits.
and there are no new listings for today because i had to go to work.
i fail at setting goals.

treasury love
so i managed to swipe a treasury or two a while back. unfortunately, none made the front page of etsy, but here they are anyway. i think they're neat.
etsy love
instead of doing the obligatory 'this is my new blog, woohoo!' post, i thought i'd post some etsy love by showing everyone what i've bought (or traded for) on etsy. so here are some of my most newly acquired possessions:
sheldon + dubi mini plushies from post
'looking' pocket mirror from aussie patches
love bird charm from jessica jane,
black+white tree pendant from imogen, kawaii bear from the peach
